It is usually conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka and is one of the prestigious entrance tests for engineering students in the South. According to data, almost 58,000 students appeared for the COMEDK examination in 2019. This examination is also a computer-based test and comprises three subject’s physics, chemistry and maths. Apart from B. Tech, the students can also take up the COMEDK examination for admission in the B. Arch course. The colleges allotted post completion of this examination is usually based in Karnataka.
MHTCT or as the students call it Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a state-based engineering test of Maharashtra that is conducted annually by the Directorate of Technical Education. In this examination, 50% weightage is given to the class 12th score while the other 50% weightage is given to the score obtained in the entrance test. Once the examination is completed the students are called for the counseling session where they are allotted colleges based on their scores.
