Don’t delete your accounts, just make a point to use them for positive things instead.

In this article, I will go over several positive ways that you can use your social media.

1 – Social change

Remember the ALS ice bucket challenge? It may be said that the trend is over and people have largely forgotten about ALS. But, that trend did so much good for the foundations trying to find and fund a cure for ALS that no other marketing campaign could have achieved.

And there are a lot of other types of events that have happened due to social media and you only need to see the guide in this blog post to understand how it can be used for activism on a large scale.

Social media can have a hugely positive impact on the world when it is used for something that people can get behind.

2 – Find a job

There is a platform for just about every different aspect of being social. Some people are active on LinkedIn to find a job or recruit potential employees. Not everybody uses social media to send chain memes for likes!

Remember that networking is very important to find a job. People used to have to go to networking events that took time and weren’t always very effective. With social media, you can join groups in the field that you are interested in for finding a job and making connections there.

You can even spread the word out among your friends and family letting them know you are looking for a job and may find one by word of mouth that way.

3 – Find people to share a hobby with

Let’s suppose you are interested in mushroom picking but know nothing about it. On social media, you can find groups of people passionate about it and are willing to help newbies like yourself.

You’ll surely find some people who will teach you about the hobby and then can turn into friends that you enjoy doing it together.

4 – Create a business

If you have an idea for a business then you can use social media to find clients or customers for whatever it is you are doing.

You’ll need to find the right platform and learn how to use it effectively, but it can pay off by giving you a start on your road to success.
